Rangers vs Jets … It’s Go Time!

Game 13

Rangers vs. Jets – 7:00 PM MSG

Look! An actual Go Time post! And there will be a guest review (Yergs)! I got half the weekend done correctly. This is clearly a half-assed venture.

Tonight’s probable lineup for the Rangers (9-3):

Jimmy Vesey-Derek Stepan-Rick Nash

Chris Kreider-Mika Zibanejad-Mats Zuccarello

Michael Grabner-Kevin Hayes-J.T. Miller

Pavel Buchnevich-Brandon Pirri- Jesper Fast

Ryan McDonagh-Nick Holden

Marc Staal-Adam Clendening

Brady Skjei-Kevin Klein

Henrik Lundqvist returns to the net after getting a night off against Boston.  The Rangers under AV typically switch goaltenders on back to back games in which they travel between the games.  Tonight is no exception.

Clendening comes back into the lineup for Dan Girardi after missing the past seven games as a healthy scratch.  According to AV, the early sitting of Girardi  is not because he is hurt, it is merely preventative.

Oscar Lindberg is Prucha’d for his fourth straight game.

For the Jets (5-6-1), Connor Hellebuyck gets the start in goal.  I’m excited to see their collection of explosive forwards, especially second overall draft pick Patrick Laine.

For all of those interested in trade rumors, this is a great opportunity for the Winnipeg brass to get a close up look at the Rangers for a potential trade for Jacob Trouba.  I’ve previously mentioned in the comments that I would oppose such a trade purely because of the implications it would have on the expansion draft.

All the same, if I were Brady Skjei, tonight might be a good night to not have my best game. s down.

Once again, I apologize for my faulures surronding the Bruins game.  This isn’t my full time job, and you guys really do deserve even my HAV to be have a little more ass in it than that.

Don’t forget to vote after the game and tell everyone you know about the blog and to follow me on Twitter @rangersreport2

  1. Doodie, your ridiculous apologies are not accepted, for the simple reason, that there is nothing to apologies for tremendously tremendous job you are doing for us. So, there is nothing but eternal gratitude to you for that.

  2. Go Time. I love Go Time! Let’s Go Rangers! We get to watch the Jets defense corps, which Jacob Trouba cannot crack yet someone is supposed to give up a huge ransom to get.

  4. Is it me, or have they started to look like the 2015-2016 Rangers the last few games….. Seems their speed game is becoming neutralized and their forecheck is sporadic. They were outplayed for the post part by the Bs, and the peg’s hit a few posts. Otherwise we’d be down 3-1….

  5. No doubt the team is good, but I think most fans are overrating it and the system.

I think the forwards are making the D look better than it is.

ig they can keep up this scoring pace for 82 games, many records will fall…don’t see that happening.

Still think this team needs 3 position upgrades and more forecheck consistency.

    Tempered enthusiasm folks and LGR.

And they did it with 2 forwards and 1 D man and that are better than any 2 forwards or 1 D man we have.

Also play D and cycle the puck a bit better than we do.

I bet we’d beat them in the summer Olympic track events though 😉

Don’t give up, it’s early in the season, they’re winning, they’ve got a top 10 goalie (albeit an overpaid one), it could be the year 😉

  8. That goal was a thing of beauty. However, overall…. Still not thrilled with their play and me thinks theyre about to go on a losing streak…. What goes up, must come down I guess.

  9. The fact that boys like to score in bunches, doesn’t hide the fact, that Rangers are extremely sloppy tonight, periodically lose passing touch and putting brakes on skates. Hope, they will overcome obvious tiredness in 3rd and will finish on high note. So exiting…

  10. Butch gets steamrolled by Big Buddy and comes back to handle a pass off his skate to his stick, beat a man one-on-one and make a high skill move on the new goalie who may be looking for his jock…

    it’s around his neck…

  11. It will soon be the mission of all Rangers’ opponents to Fermez la Bouche. Good luck with that. Highlight-reel goal from him tonight. These Rangers, can’t figure out if I’m dreaming or drinking.

  12. I can’t help but think about Carps old philosophy that sometimes a losing streak is on the way when a team starts winning games it really shouldn’t win and get a false sense of security in their play. (Or something like that)
Wonder if they’ll fade or lock it Back up a bit.
    Why didn’t Girardi play?
