Rangers vs Canucks … It’s Go Time!

Game 14

Rangers vs. Canucks – 7:00 PM MSG

The big news that broke before the game is that Dylan McIlrath was traded to the Florida Panthers for defenseman Steve Kampfer and a conditional 7th round pick in 2018.  I’ll have more on this tomorrow in the review post.

Also, I hope you voted today. If you haven’t done so, most poll sites may still be open and you should go vote there. Then, after the game, be sure to vote here for your three Rangers stars. I will be listening to the game on the radio while voting. Clearly, this is a HAV.

Tonight’s probable lineup for the Rangers (10-3):

Jimmy Vesey-Derek Stepan-Rick Nash

Chris Kreider-Mika Zibanejad-Mats Zuccarello

Michael Grabner-Kevin Hayes-J.T. Miller

Pavel Buchnevich-Brandon Pirri- Jesper Fast

Ryan McDonagh-Dan Girardi

Marc Staal-Nick Holden

Brady Skjei-Kevin KleiN

Antti Raanta gets the start, which is a bit of a surprise given the amount of time between games for the Rangers.

Dan Girardi returns to the lineup after sitting one game as a precautionary measure. Adam Clendening returns to the press box. Joining him there is Oscar Lindberg, who is Prucha’d for the sixth straight game. Without an injury, it is difficult to picture how he will get back into the lineup.

For the Canucks (4-8-1), the only way they win this game is if the Rangers give it away. The Canucks management is in complete denial about how bad this team actually is. Any team looking to steal some high end prospects would be well served to call Jim Benning.

Jakob Markstrom gets the start.

Once again, a personal note, thank you so much for joining me here. If I can make this blog even half as good as Carp’s, I’ll be pretty damn proud.

Don’t forget to tell everyone you know and to follow me on Twitter @rangersreport2. And don’t forget to vote, both at the polls and here after the game.

  1. Pirri hits the logo and Joe says Markstrom made a beautiful save.

I always get a good laugh at those “Great Save” screams from Sam Rosen, especially when the puck is shot right into the goalie’s pads.

    I’ll take Nash’s 400th for 2-2.

  2. Just when you start to believe they decide to take the night off not championship caliber yet. They have a long way to go! This was a test they get a big fat F!

  3. Well, they’ve played well above expectations so far this season. I’ll allow them this one absolute stinker against non conference opponent.
Plus they’ll have 3 days to sober up.

  4. This game was coming for some time. THE has to spread his knees wide and remove his head from his arse. Zika needs to start playing more North-South. Too much fancy boy BS.

  5. So……Toronto hoses the Rangers again by mandating that Raanta come out based on a TV replay. No evaluation of any symptoms in the arena or on the ice. What an utterly stupid program.
