Last night, our resident tough guy, #20, was crosschecked twice by a 5’8 midget, then @20 grabbed onto him and took an extra facewash for his troubles. Very encouraging.
Rick Nash, for reasons perhaps beyond his control, has squandered a potential Hall of Fame career, and become little more than a talented afterthought. Sorry, Rickster, just callin’ it as I see it.
I want our coach to watch Weber and Emelin shut his team down all night and then explain how defensemen don’t need to be shut down guys in front of their own net. Just skating passing puck movers..Who take tripping penalties..
I’m at the Panthers game and got a buzz that the Hads scored. I was like “here we go again with the early goals”. Next time I checked the app for something else, the avoid showed and the 1 for the Hads changed to a 0 right before my eyes! Woohoo!
SN, I wonder how much of the deKlein in his game may be linked to an injury. Well documented that our coach will play veterans he trusts even if they’re hurt
If only 13, 36, 21, and some of the others would tee it up the way Pirri does, he could go away and they would be better players. But, no, it’s much more important to force “wish” passes.
Between periods, Gorton hands AV a handwritten note that says : Read this aloud at conclusion of tonight’s contest: “I thought we showed some effort and had some good looks.”
Good goal thanks to Nash. But I think that those 5 min of PP was more crucial, b/c if Rangers could score second, it would be a great hit for Hab’s psyche and they are really vulnerably psychologically, which was shown when as a pretty good team, they lost few games with by the terrible scores.
Rangers desperately need 2 goals difference for insurance. Can’t relay on this goalie anymore. De ja vue with Hank – come to replace Raanta , let two quick in – game over…
The real problem with our D is Klein’s totally unexpected steep decline in performance in comparison of the last season, McD’s unexplainable flops in the too few games and solid playing Staal absence. Skjei is not as big problem as it painted here by some, he is a rookie in process, has an upside and could be only better. Girardi, objectively, IS better this season (compare to horror story of last). Clandening is just a temporary cork in this bottle, sometimes leaking patch on the boat body…
Honestly why people still get worked up over this group is perplexing. Their not bad enough miss playoffs and not good enough to win. Stuck in middle of no where with this core. We’ve seen enough series wins over last few years. Without a title who gives a crap

I voted hated, no Doritos, and gnash…in no particular order
On two goals by mtl who ever was Klein’s D partner left him high and dry in front of the net in no mans land while they were no where to be found behind the net covering no one
That’s a rough one. Lundqvist going through the toughest stretch of his career this season. I’ve been hard on him but some of you guys…Jesus..Watch, with Raanta out and no one to keep him “well rested” he’s going to start playing his best hockey of the year. “Without Raanta we’re going to fall out of contention”? Cmon guys.
I thought Purple was the best player in the game tonight, along with Hated and Good One (in no particular order). And in addition to the relief goalkeeper, the captain wasn’t very good at all, IMO. And 76-8 were a disaster.
From larrys weekly article. Even though I respect his career (probably more than most) I think Larry can take probably out of his narrative
“In the course of conversation the other day, Dan Girardi mentioned off-hand he never had won the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award. Somehow, that seems impossible. Because there sure aren’t many who have come down Broadway the past decade or two who have put their bodies on the line and who personify the meaning of extra effort more than the alternate captain.
And if Girardi doesn’t win it this time in the fans’ vote — and let’s be realistic, he probably won’t — a lifetime achievement award, maybe?
Why do the Rangers stop skating on a power play? Is AV telling them that if they draw a penalty, they can use it as a two minute break? They stand around and play “Keepaway” with the puck, almost as if they are killing a penalty, not trying to score on it. Maybe that’s why AV never calls timeout. He probably tells the players,”You don’t need a time out- you can rest during our power plays”. Very frustrating to watch. That five minute major was especially tough to watch.

Cmon guys.

I also have to speculate that av will now make miller a healthy scratch for standing up for a teammate.

Big difference between JT Miller and McIlrath
One was waived and nobody grabbed him. That would not be the case with Miller

I thought Purple was the best player in the game tonight, along with Hated and Good One (in no particular order). And in addition to the relief goalkeeper, the captain wasn’t very good at all, IMO. And 76-8 were a disaster.

in summary, AV was a bad coach tonight, and McDonagh was a bad captain.

There are so many games I (thankfully) haven’t watched this year. Way far above norm.

So I guess the comeback in Columbus is now a wash, eh?

Why do the Rangers stop skating on a power play? Is AV telling them that if they draw a penalty, they can use it as a two minute break? They stand around and play “Keepaway” with the puck, almost as if they are killing a penalty, not trying to score on it. Maybe that’s why AV never calls timeout. He probably tells the players,”You don’t need a time out- you can rest during our power plays”. Very frustrating to watch. That five minute major was especially tough to watch.
