Revenge for 2014!! Period!!!
Let’s get it on!!!
Lose 3-1 carter scores for sure
It is a free game on NHL.TV for anyone who is interested.
Time to watch with the mute button on. Stupid blackouts.
Just win baby!
Let’s Go Rangers!
Hanka spends a lot of time on his knees…hmmm.
How ’bout that, huh? The World’s Greatest Dad. My son made it for me. The best in the world. Which means I’m better than just number one.
So far, very discouraging start…
When is the start finished? Does a goal need to be scored?
Rangers hate home ice…
One bad clearance leads to huge PP possession.
Nash could move forward himself a try a shot…
He’s on his knees again
I think tonight it will be over when we get out first shot.
The start ends when the end starts…

Though the PK didn’t give them much.
Start is over.
The return of Zuc Gorilla?
Yay!!! We’re in the game!
That’s some deep stuff, Olga.
Huge contrast in styles: slick skaters vs. big grinders. Wicky’s favorite roster?
This going be a long night. This team owns us
I prefer a slick grinder myself
Can we play all 82 away
It’s more and more looks like inevitable is just matter of time…
Both team sensing a blood in the water…
…and here it IS!
Pirri hit the net.
Undeserved and even sweeter because of that.
That’s a Pirri Tale!
As I said, Pirri’s at risk. Maybe not so much!
Boy, did Zibanejad get away with one!
Thank you, Kevin Klein.
Need a strong PP, goal or no, make them pay for that crap.
That’s what happened when zebras missed obvious calls, here starts teams self policing.
Best 1st period for Hank this season. Fact.
Again. Who’s PP is that?
Or do that, send the message: be as dirty as you like, and we’ll throw in a PK breakaway in the bargain. Yeesh! Good thing Hank’s on his game.
Hank the story in that per
This much was good: even if they lost all the D-zone face-offs, they competed well in the zone afterwards.
What happened to Stepans head?
I think I see a sprout!
Lost almost every face-off, every board battle and leading 1-0. Puree with a gift for the ages.
Kings goalie is a mess; but cant’ get puck take a shot
Is Kreider playing?
If the refs are going to let the Kings get away with all the BS, then it will be a long night
Step is horrible on PP
Izzy! Grab your jock, honey.
We need Healy in studio more over rest of the clowns.
It’s a little bit scary to watch LA (team currently out of PO picture) so dominant. Rangers despite the goal, still couldn’t find their game and rhythm, so far.
Kings still having their mail delivered to Rangers’ d-zone.
How do you not shoot the puck on this clown in net
Looks like they’re waiting for the third period again. Hope Lundqvist can last that long.
Great, another pp for the kings to dominate.
Why does Zucc just shoot it in?
Does a Haze absence really affect Rangers game so profoundly? Sad.
The fish tanks scored three pp goals on these bums. Now we look like the bums.
Well, that’s two minutes not spent in their own end. Baby steps.
Of course it doesn’t help when they can’t win a faceoff anywhere.
Another home game dud. not moving their legs, and not passing well
Time to get a new net.
Gabby is scoring this game. Book it.
It’s obvious the offense misses Staal
What Nash did there is what he, Kreider and Miller should do all the time. Drive the net, draw a penalty or get a shot. Not a lot bad can happen when you do it.
Sick of looking at Kings.
The Rangers should fly in opposing teams’ fans to make it feel more like a road game. Maybe then they’d play better at home.
Memba when these games were fun to watch?
Playoffs? You want to talk about playoffs?
Can they get a shot on net this period? Vegas is taking bets.
Despite all this clichéd talks about playing simple, our guys stil use a lot of “pretty” unconnected passes, don’t use onetimer’s shots on inexperienced goalie, etc. Simple, doesn’t mean primitive, stupid…
Damn it, I lost.
It would help if they stopped giving the puck back to them.
I can’t wait for the all-star game, but not for the game. For the music. Of wait. Who’s playing? I can wait.
I was hoping it was Toby Keith and Jackie Evancho.
NO calls tonite; every ref/linesman from Western Canada; weird…
Rangers best line has been their 4th. And they haven’t been that good–they’re the 4th line.
Pump it up!!
Welcome back Pumper!
I’ve got fudge!!
Can’t hold down Puempel for long. Now to get Holden untracked.
Pump it up, when you don’t really need it
Pump it up, until you can feel it
What, this Pimple is a sniper? AV looks like a sleeping genius?
So let me get this straight, puempel is either scoring every game or out with a concussion. Who does he think he is, Pat Lafontaine?
Out in the fashion show, down in the bargain bin
You put your passion out under the pressure pin
Fall into submission, hit-and-run transmission
No use wishing now for any other sin
Push errrrr make that Pump it real good
Has anyone ever seen a guy dive and then still go for the puck? Neither have I.
Dammit, Papa, she’s on the other coast!
When you have your legs taken out, there’s nowhere to go but down. Ridiculous call.
SN=King of videos and GIFs.
Refs aren’t calling this game even whatsoever.
Klein was out there forever
Someone kick Nolan’s ash.
Was only a matter of time
That’s was coming. They own too much to Hank, standing on his head. Literally.
that looked in
Lundqvist must be ecstatic with his team’s play in getting the puck out of the zone.
Anyone else having flashbacks?
this game feels like the SCF; imposing their will; King keeping NYR in it
Completely dominated just get out of per
Poor Hank. I feel for him. Refs, with no calls not helping either…
I thought so too, SN.
At least the next period is the one they usually wake up for.
How about the whole game “tilted…
Miracle have a lead. Like 2014 all over again. Kings have puck all game.
Just lucky not to be like 4:1 or something…
BTW, In Europe they sometimes punished some soccer teams for their fans bad behavior by forcing them play on the empty stadiums. That’s coming to my mind when I watch MSG most of the time…
The Rangers are supporting each other well in-zone, but spending almost the entire game there. 2-0 was too much to ask, but it would have required LA to commit even more forward, open up some counterattack. Now they can wait. I anticipate more of the same defensive style, hanging in without the three regulars, hoping for the occasional counter.
The fans aren’t showing bad behavior, they’re showing no behaviour.
Was that Canadian or English? Behaviour?
Good news: King is back to old form tonight.
Bad news: the team looks like they forgot what offense is
Looks like the last Giants game. The defense is playing practically the entire game.
I thought the pusyhats were Saturday’s thing?
Sounds like some guys are still wearing them here
They’re winning the game geniuses. Stop whining bc it’s not perfect
Hey, c’mon, English wasn’t my major. Even minor. Or whatever…at all.
I literally could of cared less for all intensive purposes.
I’m a Bonehead and I’ll whine if I want to. You’d whine, too…
I hate the trivia question ever since they decided to answer it in the post game. What about those of us outside of the area who can’t watch it? Plus, it was more fun when they kept stats and went up against each other.
Norm you don’t whine. You watch analyze interpret. Whining is like porn…we all know it when we see it
Ev, if this HAV would post the pre-game notes you could have the answer before they ask the question.
Friggin HAV, ruining it for everybody.
Weird. When the Rangers forecheck, it’s harder for the Kings to forecheck.

This is kind of game Kreider needs to be physical
These. Refs. Hate. The. Rangers.
Kopitar’s tried that move twice now.
Like I said. These. Refs. Hate. The. Rangers. Period.
Pansification. Capital P.
Penalty for breathing to heavily on Kopitar. Bad breath, maybe.
Make up call.
That’s after all uncalled crap!!!
Make up call, striped idiots?
Tons of holding going on by the kings in front of the Rangers net just before the Carter call.
Dumb penalty, thanks!
i agree Sam
Of the schneid!
Topo should have passed.
I could commentate.
Hello? Rangers? This is your third period wake up call.
Opportunities in chances only way beat this team
The wind outside
The cole slaw at lunch
Don’t like own medicine, morons?
Going to Papa’s after Topo’s first goal since 2014
That’s why zucc should shoot more
Looks like Rangers finally woke up and start doing everything right and in speed.
Yup. Rangers too soft.
Ha. Evidently my NHL.TV isn’t as live as this HAV.
Hank let them weathered the storm in first two, showing how is really The King. Now they have to respond with finishing LA MoFos queens
Zucc leading the team in GF/60 this period.
Kings are 8 minutes away from being one game over 500 so I’m not sure why youse are expecting them to turn into Superman here. They lost slot of key champions since 14z not the same team
Our goalie hairdo is better then theirs., not to mention that he is prettier too and finally overperforming opposed…
Swallowed the whistles?
3 game of year easy. Been under duress all night.
Much too soft.
Is it good team defending to have six-blueshirted love pile in the crease?
Lottsa people seem to find Lindberg rather irritating.
We got a Yahtzee!!!
Rangers beat the Kings to win the Cup in 2014.
Then beat Tampa Bay and Chicago to win the Cup in 2015
Alternate Facts brought to you from Kellyanne Conman.
There was do much craziness in front of the net that someone could’ve covered the puck in the crease and no-one would’ve known.
Two under .500, going on three under, in reality.
Getting run out of the building and intimidated by the biggest team in the league.
Don’t interrupt me with facts
You gotta dance wit wut brung ya.
Vesey could have killed Mcnabb
What the….No goalie pull?
That stinks. He deserves to not get a second one scored on him. He deserves a frikkin shutout.
Was sutter worried about goal differential tiebreaker not pulling zatkoff
That’s a bit of a downer.
However he’s always been horrible with retrieving his stick when he loses out, no matter where it is.
Bizarre poor coaching. No way they score 2 in such a short span.
Two points snowflakes
But let me guess – you had a feeling after the third goal
I make it LQ, Zuc, Pimpl
We’ll take it.
They don’t ask how, just how many.
Anyone else getting annoyed with faux and his condescension?
Faux, we’re here too commiserate with each other. Good, bad, whining, no whining. That’s what we do.
About 687 times more watchable than Sunday.
I love the smell of victory in the morning, it smells like Napalm!
Seriously somebody who is in touch with Sally needs to tell her about this Tiki Barber ad.
Good evening, Sally! … Good evening, Hambone!
Speaking as one snowflake I worry more about condensation than condescension.
WOuld be nice if Healy becomes a regular on post games
Whatever happened to Brian LeetcH on MSG?
If this is what 2017 is going to be like, I need to get a comfort pony
It’s not condescension. It’s outright ridicule. You guys know too much about the ebb and flow of hockey to come on here and biotch all night. Whining is not insight. It’s just whining. Sound like rookie tweeters on the Yankees Lohud site. Like walking into a stripper party and realizing someone took a shiit on my rug
FG doubling down!
Lundqvist throwing teammates under the bus again.
I whine all the time. Perhaps it doesn’t come through in all my comments, but if you were watching with me, you’d hear, “O Sole Mio!” endlessly, in many variations!
Leetch has kids and lives far away and didn’t want to be a regular, Papa. I’d guess he will be involved when his kids are older.
I had a pony!
I like Faux’s attitude. Positive. I just consider it the other end of the spectrum. And sometimes he’s right.
How’s that for hafazz support Faux?
Just finished shed the game on dvr….can’t wait to go back a read the comments from you chuckleheads…
I voted shampoo boy, hated, and ein kleiner…in no particular order.
HM to sideshow bob and machine (who really seems to get under the skin of opponents a bit).
Speaking of sideshow bob, kings weren’t having any of his act, good for them. Also good for him getting a goal (which would not have happen if not for the stellar play by miller) after a bit of a drought.
Thought this was klein’s best game in a long time despite I think he was a minus 1 or 2.
Also thought this was a pretty good onions game from the goalie on out for the rangers (not sure they win a 7 game series like this, but onions).
Kings lineup is big and likes to play physical, but need a skill guy or two more to balance it out.
Now to go back a read the comments, I’m sure they’re great.
Nice completely undeserved win. But the Kings sure hacked up a couple hairballs in their own end. Nice to see Hank back to himself. Kings are uber physical, but the one guy I would love to see tuned up one of these days is Doughty. Big time talker and whiner. Chirping McDonagh while going to the box after a bogus call.
Wicky, these nicknames continue to make my head spin. Who’s this “Klein”, for instance?
Yeah, screw doughty.
Mania died. Maniac lived. C’est la vie. (Correctly speaking, she was Manya, – also my mother’s name).
Ok, now caught up on comments and….
What the hell was FG so upset about?
Kings not my favourite roster, top ten or fifteen but not favourite. And what nickname is in question?
Lol re your over the top softness comments.
Shocked there weren’t more people freaking out about Klein throwing instead of hoping for a power play and then hoping for a goal on said power play lol.
WICK–Shocked that Klein did not get benched for fighting and not for skating away.
Lol, no kidding right?!
You know what time it is!!

Kleiner is old school according to Salmon Joe. I guess AV likes the French American school.
Kings are physical but the game reminded me of what the 2nd half/playoffs will be as the refs swallow the whistle and the PP looks like PooPoo.
Who had Pumps, Puree and Zucc as the 3 goal scorers at even strength? Exactly.
Long time since Hank stole one. Good for him. Maybe he can string a few together. That two games in a row they didn’t manage 20 shots. Got to strike a balance between D and O. Can’t be one o the other.
Hank, with his stellar play lately, now, just throws a bus at teammates.
It’s Manya, ya Moops.
I heard Manya even had a pony growing up.
And that pony was the “Pride of Krakau.”
She loved that pony!
Wick, now I’m really curious. Do you mean 10-15th favorite roster this year? Recent history? I’d ask who your favorite 9-14 are, but to simplify: what roster would you most like to see switch to Rangers’ jerseys (besides the current one–I know you bleed Blue like the rest of us. It’s a hypothetical.) And surely there are recent Kings rosters you would have had at #1 at the time?
Good morning Boneheads welcome to Tuesday! I did not get to see the good old hockey game last night. I don’t have center ice and it wasn’t on NHL Network. Howeva! I will get to see the replay on NHL Network today. Could Hank be finding his game? Is this the Return of the King? Is it time for the Apocalypse Zuc scored a goal! How could this be, Puree? Pimpernel? The skies are red storms are coming!
Hank with a YUGE performance last night!
Rangers showed snarl.
Klein played a great game.
Pirri and Puempel scored…
Shay was a presence…
It’s almost like the Rangers answered nearly every complaint expressed here on this blog over the past few weeks all in one game!
When Puemple was on waivers, you have to wonder what teams like the Islanders, Devils, Lanch, and Yotes were thinking. How does he fall to the Rangers? There are a lot of poorly run organizations out there. Not saying Puemple is going to be a star, just that he is clearly an NHL player, and posses the ability to put the puck in the net. An ability that is often in demand in the NHL.
I assume Sens though they could sneak him through waivers like Rangers and Dale Weise. If everybody ever gets healthy I think Pirri get waived and probably doesn’t make it to Hartford. They have at least 13 forwards who could play on most teams and Jooris didn’t make it through either.
Welcome back Henrik! Not that the previous two games were bad or anything, but this game was what we have been accustomed to and what we expect with more frequency. Yes, Lundqvist stole this game that the team had no business winning because they were thoroughly outplayed, especially in the first two periods.
When fourth liners score that’s something the Rangers haven’t had in years, but other teams seem to kill them with. Shut down the top line guys and get beat by the fourth liner. I’m still not a big fan of Pumps, but if he can score every now and then he’ll win me over.
Klein getting a bit feisty. I like it.
Skjei isn’t afraid to take the body. He may need to grow a bit as a defenseman and he isn’t exactly a tough guy, but he takes the body when he has to.
Spears will be shattered! Shields will be broken! The Philth is on the horizon!
Ya know there might be something to Hank’s pleas for “structure” – he was horrendous coming out of the break when there was no net front presence at all which snowballed into a crisis of confidence infecting the whole team. Even last night, despite the number of shots and chances LA had, the team was clearly committed to giving Henrik support. He is literally a different goalie when he is feeling that around him – uber confident and sharp. Overall these past 2 games have been ugly wins, but you need those over 82 games and you really need them come playoff time. Here’s hoping that against Philly they play a complete game and Hank continues the upward swing.
Who wouldn’t love a pony?
That was not a fancy pants game but none the less impressive the NYR did not fold under the pressure of the bigger, more physical team. And HL looked a lot more HL like – regardless of he play of those in front of him. Not sure what magic dust BenWhaa sprinkled on him, just hope he has a big bag of it. Good to see Pumpernickel be a feel good story, again. As to lines, think I would prefer to leave Beep where he was and drop Buch down, rather than bump VC up. Already messing with the magic sliding JT over to replace K.Bongs.
Lines should be IMHO!
Gnash, Step, Hobbit
Kreider, Zika, Buch
Vesey, JT, Beep Beep
Puree, Machine, Pimpernel
When Hayes returns Vesey to line 4 and Puree to the blender!
My statement should have said the kings would be in my top 10-15 this season but I do think they need an additional skill player or two to balance out their line up (not sure if that makes more sense than the original post;))?!
My favourite rangers roster was probably 94-95 when they added the little ball of hate, the year before that…cup winner…and year after are also high on my list as well as 2012, 2014, and yes…2004 (ducks) until the slather fire sale, then I was not a fan.
As far as other teams go..I’ll just stick with this season due to freshness in my pea sized brain. Probably the ducks…size, skill, snarl, speed, faceoffs, decent depth. I also like edmonton’s roster a lot (not quite as good on faceoffs). Others I like are jets (when all healthy), flames, stars, jackets, wild.
Ducks and oilers would def be the first two picks though. Kings would be around 10 I think.
The idea of all 5 playing below the dots to support this D is not a sustainable strategy. They had very little possession time as every break was started 180 feet from the other net.
No surprise they scored off of two bad plays by Kings D/Goalie.
The first goal was a gift pass by the kings to puree and the Miller play was a big boner by Jackoff.
SN said big boner
Ever here the joke about the two kids put into identical rooms filled with horse poop and given a shovel?
First kid is standing in a corner holding his nose not moving, second kid is laughing and slinging poop everywhere with the shovel while digging…guy running experiment asks second boy what he is doing…boy replies “with all this poop, there has to be a pony in here somewhere!”
You’re welcome, Wick.
I don’t think Jackoff bonered (see what I did there?)
I think it was a great fake by JT, the kind that only works one in 10,000 times approaching the goalie behind the net
Not sold on pumpernickel like some, def skilled offencively, but 3 goals in one game and not great in D zone…jury still out to me
Thank you carp
FG – no doubt Jay Tea gave him the head fake but a weak sauce Goalie pass to his D helped. Point is they scored off forecheck when putting pressure on Kings D.
The dish to the tape of Zucc’s stick was special. Good thing Zucc had nobody to pass to except a couple of Kings D.
Be interesting to see this new ‘structure’ against a team like Philthy that only has one good offensive line.
When all the cowards are healthy, I don’t think they will waive any of them. For two reasons,
One, as we have seen this year, guys get hurt, they will need them again.
And two, if that ever make that trade for the Dman we all feel they need, it may very well be a two for. They will need to have Puemple, and Pirri for depth if that happens.
Cowards? Sheesh. Forwards.
well, some think they’re one and the same, Bdl 🙂
I mean, they sure did get intimidated and run out of their building by the biggest, baddest team in the league.
that’s for you, John Wick.
Good morning, boneheads!
Is Hank back? It was all him last night. Or is it he? Where is Coos?
Interesting test they passed yesterday. Not sure they can do it for 7 games, but they got hit a lot and didn’t get intimidated. They do have some people to push back, apparently. MZA didn’t not disappear despite all this physicality, I felt that Vesey and Buchnevich looked a little timid.
For the record, I’m not suggesting either of them is afraid of physicality. It’s possible that Buchnevich is a little wary of his fragile back, and Vesey is still finding his second wind
Skjei looked much more confident last night, probably has something to do with his interception and the ensuing GWG last game
I might add, Skjei made a great play, and he did so because he was in position and on his feet. Still, that puck could have gone right past him and it’s a different outcome. Somewhat fortunate.
He looked steady yesterday though. One of his better defensive games. Ditto Klein. Maybe Klein needs to get his boxers in a bunch by opposition every now and then, and he’ll be fine
They miss Staal, in a bad way. Clendening has been just adequate, I don’t think it’ll last
Skjei was indeed steady vs. LA.
They definitely miss Staal, ilb,
I think they looked like they were having fun with all the physical stuff. A large part of this team has been through the playoff wars. They are not going to be intimidated in a game like this.
Clendening has been fine. The NYR D is very hard to pair up given the invariability of performance. He has been a good RD3 Offensive D-man.
1-7-8 +6 in 17 games is not bad for a 24 yo with 67 total NHL games under his belt. He is 1st amongst NYR D in pts/60 all situations and makes smart plays out of zone. Definitely not a D stopper and will be riding the pine when Stall returns.
On the Zucc goal The Miracle Met carried the puck through neutral zone, gained Ozone, drew 3 Kings players toward him and dumped puck behind net prior to Miller making the play of the game. The Puree goal was also a 4th line/3rd pair special.
Hey, nobody is talking about Girardi? Who has been just fine lately. And how about his pass to Stepan on the Puempel goal?
I have been praising Mr. Girardi often of late. He’s been the best Ranger defender for quite a few games, which may be more about others such as Holden and McDonagh slumping. But he’s been solid, and great to see all the D rebound these last couple games–not nearly the number of mistakes from that recent horrible stretch. Makes the Staal timetable easier to manage.
Girardi has played better since the 5 day break, reinforcing the need to get him proper rest in 2nd half of season. The schedule will help with as well.
what defenseman in this league never seems to make a mistake or missed coverage? Any?
January has been rough for the Rangers they slipped into a pretty deep hole! Hopefully they finish on top!
This guy looks pretty good until the end…
dude…I’m talking about today not yesteryear
Mid-season report: The Rangers have come out of a brief but eye-catching nosedive that pointed out the value of Booth, who has had a nice bounce-back season. It’s been impressive to see them ride out all the injuries, and now that Smog and Furious have been added to the list, their depth will continue to be tested. Nice to see Zit step up on his return, and Cheese has been solid, especially since he has stopped visiting the penalty box like it’s the Men’s room. And every time you think The Admiral is ready for Hartford—snipe!
The D seems finally to adjusted, especially since Gerund and Brougham have been paired and Over-you has rebounded from a truly foul stretch. Good to see him have Bread’s back last night. Chocolate’s steadiness through that stretch showed good leadership, and a good thing, too, since the younger vets, All-the-Cards and Old, have also been struggling. The defensive recovery, IMO, has allowed Coil to return to form, vital as we wait for Rayva’s return.
The offense, while not as responsible for the brief, deep slump, can’t be said to have helped much either, but it was always going to be tough to work Bridges, Cassidy and Earth-inheritor back in. Now that they’ve settled, the Rangers have, up until the Wings game at any rate, three potentially dangerous lines. Eyes-out still takes a game off every so often, but not as frequently to my eye, and My-toes is quietly putting together another very good 1/2-center season. Time has quite possibly been the Rangers best all-around forward, fast, physical, increasingly responsible, and By-the-arm is my mid-season MVP. Don’t know anyone who saw that one coming. Every game, it seems, he’s loose on a couple breakaways, and that defangs most teams when he’s on the ice. Finally, it was inevitable that Like-Sunday-morning would hit a wall mid-season–it will be interesting to see if he can fight through it in time for the playoffs. A rest here and there may help once they’re back to 14.
VZ pulled up on a check last night that would have been like the eruption of Krakatoa
I think I got the forwards.
The first three are Zibanijad, Bucnevich, and Nash. Eyes out is Kreider? My toes is Stepan? Time is Miller? And by the arm is Grabner?
When Clendening was guarding Glendening, were they at the nexus of the universe?
How can a player intersect with himself?
I seriously didn’t understand a word of that.
(that was my point, RR 🙂 )
Wow, just wow
SN said boner twice.
Girardi now in conversation for Norris.
The Gerund has some snarl. Doesn’t back down. I like his game.
Shay finally showed up.
JT for Captain. He leveled somebody in the second period with a boner crunchy hit.
Looks like Run Tuh was wearing #30 as that was not the Hank of recent days.
Purée needs to shoot 200 pucks a day. That cannon is a poor man’s Ovi from the right circle. In face Zucc and step should be on the ice doing the same – with Stepan on the left circle and Zucc in the right.
I’m on level 76 in candy crush. Perhaps the greatest game in the history of games. Sweet. Tasty. Delicious. Sugar Crush
Somebody stop me
Still dislike Clendening.
You should Clenden more often. You may develop a taste for it.
Clenden clenda clendavi clendatum
Norm – your 1:2o is brilliant.
Just having a little fun, e3, but thanks. What level are you on?
We meet upon the level and we part upon the square. Any bro’s?

Clendennon did make a good play on the goal, and several others, and he’s been no worse than anybody else in his own end lately. Better than some.
Ah, the Irish! Makes you want to sing:
“May the Klein rise to beat you,
May he always have his teammate’s back,
May he rain down blows upon your face.
May he poke your eye, under your face shield,
And until you meet again,
May he show you e’er the back of his hand.”
Really hoping that this team can be 100% by March.
What’s green, five miles long, and has an azzhole every three feet? The St. Patricks’s Day Parade.
Disclaimer: Do not tell this joke in public without adequate health insurance. 🙂
And Nick Holden looked like a legit top 4 defenseman for a month.
Also, Idk how much of this Puempel kid we’ll see in the long run, but for right now it looks like a good move picking up a former 1st rounder off waivers and inserting him into a style of play that suits him very well. He’s been on record as not getting along with Guy Boucher and how he likes the style of play here much more. Solid 4th line addition despite the health concerns.
I rish I ras tarrer.
James, speaking of that strategy, Stefan Noesen, drafted thre spots ahead of Puempel, was waived today by the Ducks. I wouldn’t be surprised to see us make a claim for him. We are seemingly trying to collect every player we can from the first 40 in that draft. Zibanejad, Miller, Puempel, Jensen, Clendening, Hellberg.
So wingels to sens
We weary crime tar peak in far. It was in October.
I’m still on 76. Just figured out to get the 3 whuch-a-muh-call it’s ….tricky
Yup, Wingels to Senators because non-playoff teams can never have enough mediocre fourth-liners.
Though at the moment he might be better than Teflon Neil.
Speaking of players taken in the top 40 of the 2011 draft, Elliotte Friedman reporting that pick #35 Tomas Jurco is looking to be moved and Detroit is looking to accommodate him.
For the record, I though there was a group of forwards in that draft, including him, Noesen, Puempel, Jensen, Armia, and maybe a couple of others that were all really similar to each other in terms of how to project them as pros, and they’ve all fallen short of even the modest projections I had for them (3rd liners, maybe 2nd liners in a pinch). They were all wingers, they were all a similar size (Puempel a bit smaller), and they were all scorers. But none of their offense has really translated yet to the pros.
If I were a Jurko, I would want out, too, but I’d still be a Jurko no matter where I landed up.
Nielsen hasn’t really done much even at the AHL level. Puemple I believe scored 30 in thenAHL one season.
Noesen, not Neilsen
All correct. His AHL numbers are similar to Jensen’s.
Agreed on Wingels, but Ottawa has an 87% chance of reaching the playoffs according to Sports Club Stats.
I give Ottawa a 4 percent chance, according to my stats.
In regards to Norm’s post earlier, the one with the nicknames.
It got me thinking…
…that I really wish we had a called “Cheese”
We do. Stinky Cheese.
Hawks vs. Litenin’
Let’s Go Hawks!
Seems Julien’s tenure is on shaky ground up in Beantown
My guess is
Habs – Sens – Loafs
Craps – Pits – BJs
What the heck is going on down in Tampa?
I agree with those 8 teams (I give the canes a dark horse shot to replace the B’s).
@TheBroadwayHat The other night I put my 2yo down for the night. An hour or so later I hear noise coming from his room. This is what I see. pic.twitter.com/7jaH1sRqxG

he does not look 26
Answer me this how does Puree get more ice time then Kreider in the LA game? Kreider is a horse ride that guy! Has AV lost his mind? Kreider on the 4th is as dumb as Girardi in the fastest skater competition!
Tampa will find a way into the playoffs. Boston is a mess.
Alex that’s awesome.A true fan.Lol.That =made My day.
@St Pete As Brooksie would say “Did you see Kris” with the ! or ? seemingly determined at random. AV I think said after the game the others were moving better. I know many disagree with a lot of things AV does, but he certainly seems to know how to push certain player’s buttons pretty well. JT has come back strong after a reminder earlier in Dec, Kevin Bongs entire year, to me, is a reflection of the tough love AV gave him last season. That said, its a long season and like race horses, even top guys are going to have off nights.
I don’t disagree with tough love Beezle it can motivate a player. I just have a hunch he gets frustrated playing with Step and Zuc at times. He’s a waste of talent on the 4th line. Sometines pointing out to a player what’s right with him is better than pointing out what’s wrong with him by demotion, just a though!
St Pete – I think AV’s reaction was to a few of shifts where Kreider made a couple of careless little passes that resulted in turnovers. He gets too cute sometimes which is not his game – his is 100% a power game. It was just before Puempel replaced him on the Step line and scored. I’m as big a fan of #20 as anybody but he does take some shifts off where he wanders defensively, makes ill-advised passes and just doesn’t bust it. When he does bust it, he’s a beast, and AV must think he sometimes needs a quick wake up call at times. That said, I think it worked because right after that brief demotion, he was back to being a force.
Kreids also got slammed into the wall early in 1st by Derek Forbort (the version of McIlwrath; 1st round big D with no NHL success yet) and was mostly listless after that. NYR needed him in beast mode against the Kings of LA, not playing patty cake with Step.
All this AV Kreider stuff was covered in the review here…didn’t you guys read it?
There are certain guys who AV will not hesitate to bench or demote. Miller and Kreider being two of them. And then there are guys that no matter how many times they turn the puck over, freelance, or run around in there own end, will never lose a second of a ice.
I would not be concerned at all about Kreider playing 4th line for a period or two. It’s a long season and it’s tough on them mentally and physically. Gives him a break and gave another player a chance to get a few more minutes.
I don’t know, man, juggling lines IN THE MIDDLE OF A GAME? That’s some crazy stuff! I wonder if other coaches will take AV’s lead.
Wait, I thought AV never adjusts during games … and therefore should be fired.
I don’t disagree with bdl re av and his different style with different players. I do think every coach has his “favourite” players and av seems (I said seems) to not favour the physical guys now. IMO, is different from his Canuck coaching days, but I blame his whole flip flop on the Aaron Rome hit.
I also think, like every other coach, av isn’t perfect (I know many of you here think he is). My two biggest complaints about him are his line up decisions and his overall system, which seems to get more and more one trick ponyish every year (and that is a huge mistake imo).
Carp, and Norm,
Your replies have nothing to do with the point.
Who wants to do a review for tonight? I’d love to see some new hands.
Malkin out of All Star game. Would be nice if Grabner or Zuuc got a call….
Grabner deserves All Star recognition, but ridiculous, un-watchable fiasco that it is, he should accept the honor then feign injury.
BDL, was not responding to your Miller/Kreider point but a previous one.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they go for Grabner. Not only a deserving season so far, but a potential crowd-please in the fastest-skater contest, though I don’t know if they do that any more. Gartner, Hagelin…
Oy, Mary Tyler Moore died.
Who can turn the world on with her smile.
I’d be very surprised if Grabner gets the call. You have to figure Cam Atkinson is next up – unless they don’t want three Jackets. If they want another Pen, then Phil Kessel.
Atkinson isn’t on it already? Wow.
Oh, then never mind.
I’m shocked fast isn’t on it…oh wait he’s injured, that must be why he isn’t.
Butch Trucks also passed away today.
Oh man, carp’s head would have exploded if he heard the red wings play by play announcer on hockey central @ noon
Mine nearly did….from laughter
what did he say, Wick?
Radio stations playing some serious Stralman Bros. Band in honor of Butch Trucks today.
He said that if Steve ott (Steve freaking ott lmao) was on the ice, marchand would never had done that dirty trip…i couldn’t stop laughing
SN – give me a minute in the new post
Take your time, Eddie. … Game won’t start til about 8:20.
New Post. Rivalry Time
