  1. Aren’t you supposed to predict the score like Carp? He had like a 10 year streak of getting the score EXACTLY right. It was pretty amazing…

Reminder: Wrote yesterday Pats had lost twice–to Giants–only times NYR played & won on Super Sunday. Today? NY 4, Calgary 3 #Coincidence?

  3. That was an amazing fourth quarter. Almost surreal.

I couldn’t believe that comeback, even as I was watching it.

I was rooting for the Falcons at the start, but after it was 28-3, I started rooting for the Patriots just so the game was a little closer.

  4. Love the hordes of dimwitted young sports reporters who criticize Atlanta for becoming too conservative, then lambast them for throwing the ball instead of running three times into the center of the line and kicking a field goal.

Not sure…seems odd though. I’m working, ilb is very busy, carp is too good for us now (I kid I kid), and doodie hates this place…other than that, no idea.

  6. Also back to the Stepan, and Duchene talk. If the Rangers offered Stepan, Skjei an a one, do the Avs bite. If you change the one to one of the goalie prospects ( Huska, or Sheshtorkin), do the Avs bite.

  7. I realize what happened now. We were all at a game and the building exploded. This is hell. We are stuck in hell for eternity where the Penguins and Patriots will win every final as we discuss suitable partners for Ryan Mcdonagh and snow angels it shall remain like this from now until the end of time…

  8. Yawn. Been boring in here! Questions to ponder:

Will THE and the Austrian Express add to their goal totals tonight?
Will JT trade an assist for a goal?
Will Clendening put one in to give the anti-G/Staal crowd more talking points?
Will Buch come to the defense of Zuc and get an instigator?
Will Shampoo Boy’s first against be on shot 1, 2 or 3?

  9. Very happy with JT at wing, but he might have first-line center written somewhere in his no too distant future. I say ‘might.’ If so, Step and his large contract should be taken into consideration for some D help.

  10. Mabe interview Phil Jackson about all his success with the Knicks
    .
For the locals: NYS #1 Mamaroneck (Div 1) played NYS #1 Pelham (Div 2) last night in a barn burner at the Hutch which the refs threw to the Pelicans. Lower Westchester hockey represents.

  11. Miller’s journey is a great real story about difficult bumpy road to the hockey maturity. I was wrong in my judgement, thinking that he is and always will be kind of Callahan 2.0 at best, that he is hardly coachable because of his obstinate character. There is the saying that our shortcomings is the continuation of our virtues. In his case, I think, it became an opposite – his stubbornness turns to persistence, independent mind helped to overcome his own, frequent mistakes and innate sense of humor developed high tolerance to punishments (seating and shuttle trips to Hartford). He became a guy, always ready to fight to the end and who really make a difference (sorry for cliché). Glad I was wrong.

  12. I think I would center the article around JT deserving more TOI, Carp. The absent minded plays/penalties are pretty much gone from his game so it’s time to let him loose. He should be cemented into the top six and getting 18-19 minutes per night. He’s been a force.

  13. Carp

write on expansion protection. With cap flat they need to protect Grabner even at expense of Zucc. A bit less than $ 3 million difference ($ 2,850, 000 difference) in salary next year. Same age and Grabner has world class speed.

  14. Carp, re: your 2:05
Ya think JT could ever be a primo center, or keep him at wing?
If so, could (or should) that make #21 trade bait?
Is Vesey’s drop-off a result of being perpetually mugged, or just a long, grueling extended season (for him)?
Is there a future here for guys like Graves who maybe doesn’t fit the AV mold quickly moving the puck?

  15. Not sure what to make of V-easy’s downfall, but really you can’t be surprised. I think expectations got pretty silly pretty early.

SN, I saw that it was a barn-burner (two of my fave local HS coaches, real characters, too) but I didn’t see about the officiating. Of course Chappy has never lost a game in any sport that wasn’t due to officiating 🙂

  16. Miller deserves a letter on his sweater…I like the expansion draft idea…you could talk about how goaltending is important but the D men are even more important and the rangers need at least (at least) 3 upgrades there…or how they need to address a bit more bite in their line up…I’m just spitballing here of course 😉

  17. I don’t believe we have a legit Dman prospect up in Hartford unless it’s Graves, about whom we hear very little from the powers-that-be.

  19. Size vs. speed. Speed can win only if able to finish at the end of the run. Otherwise, you will be overpowered for puck possession, hence more chances for shots and potential score.

  20. So to review……….Shaw blasts Stepan head first into the boards, no call. Kreider wraps up Theodore so he doesn’t board him and gets a holding penalty. Your fine, fine NHL officials.

  21. It amazes me that almost every penalty Kreider takes can be classified as a “stupid” penalty. He may be smart, but as far as hockey IQ and a head for the game, he is at the rock bottom of the class.

  23. Hank winked at me during the stick salute last night. I wasn’t sure if it was me since I was watching on TV, taped delay at that, but he definitely looked me in the eye and gave a nod and wink. I mouthed “you are so pretty” and he smiled.

    JT for captain
