  1. Nash is obviously very bright and insightful, but there’s a lilt in his voice that sounds a bit like Denis Potvin and Mike Bossy. Maybe they can open an antique store together in their later years.

  2. Just getting home, missed first period but watched highlight of Joint’s goal. Can’t really complain about Lite or Rutherford’s play of late–they’ve been amazing–but that was some I-got-‘im-you-take-‘im defending there. Both D doing their jobs.

Staal may make you nervous but I’m more than fine with him as 2nd pair dman. Like most vets contract is a couple of years too long but it’s supply and demand thing.

  4. Our side is the best side. We must advance the vulcanized cylinder with increased assiduity, and repel their efforts in return. Vanquish them, I say!

  5. Jokes aside, Raanta is really good. Keep them afloat and probably, given any luck, opportunity to win this game or save a point at least. One can dream, right?

  6. Buchevich IMO, was not born for this league…Too sad. Has a little bit of everything hockey, but lack of character and physicality. (Kind of antithesis of Miller). Would be glad him prove me wrong.

  7. Just started watching the game on dvr…can’t wait to see the comments later. I’m sure if the rangers win the drama queens will come out talking about “how they got run out of the building by a big team” all sarcastically like one game is the same as a 7 game series lol.

  8. In no way would I suggest the Rangers are contenders for the Cup, but you’d have to say they’re one of the teams in good position to have a shot at it. Wait a minute…

  9. Don’t want to throw cold water on a neat win, but if see a glaring weakness, it’s winning wall battles in our own end against heavier teams. Don’t know if this is correctable as things stand.

  10. SN, hard to say where your Rangers-dismissing comes from–you’d know–but this team has put together quite a successful run these last few years and may be contenders yet again. How on earth is that a bad thing, sports fans want to know.v

  11. Boring, but good win (if that makes sense).

I voted no Doritos, opg, and raaaaaaaaaannta…in no particular order

I do not understand who half these player nicknames are that some of you come up with.

Anything less than a cup “should” be considered a failure. Treating making the playoffs and not winning the cup as a positive is a cop out imo.

I don’t think there is a team drastically better than the rangers at this point. I think the caps have the least amount of “weaknesses”.

I’d prefer the pens in the first round if we don’t crossover, I think we match up best against them.

I don’t think we match up with Pitt at all if Pitt is in decent health. We are much better crossing over as 1st wildcard or have the Pens cross over. Our crossing over is preferable.

  14. Anything less than a Cup is a failure? It’s a sort of philosophy I suppose. And if there’s anything that’s been brought into focus by this streak, it’s how soft the Rangers are and how much their D sucks. They’re doing it with mirrors I guess.

  15. If we adopt the Yankee fan philosophy that any season that doesn’t end in a championship is a failure we are going to be a bunch of miserable grumps. If I want to be miserable all the time I can just read the regular news and forget about the sports page. Or I can become exclusively a Patriots fan if wining is all I am after. This group has given us a lot of joy over the last few years so let’s enjoy the ride. I’ll be disappointed if they don’t win a Cup at some point, but, it won’t be the end of the world.
