  1. For all the recent Kreider bashing there is only one Ranger who is consistently wresting next to the crease and battling for position almost every shift

  2. The first period looked like the type of a game they played in October/November. Let’s see if A.Anaheim is willing to continue that, and B. Whether the Rangers can still do it. 5 goals anyone?

  3. Got a problem with your PP? Just wait for the Rangers to come to town. That will cure it. Also I guess they are not going to let Hank ease his way back in. They are headed to allowing 50 shots. I also don’t see what people see in Smith. A 2nd and a 3rd for a third pair guy who is a UFA after the season.

  4. Will Grabner score again this season? Will the Machine honor his name? Will Shampooboy learn how to handle the puck? Will Carpe bring us pizza from Sals’s?

  5. Ziba again! Unforgivable! Just can’t do it! Was so obvious. How can you do that blind pass having opponent in between you. This one killing the mood and ultimately the game. Idiot.

  6. Does Jagr automatically get the Masterton every year now since he’s older? He beat out a guy whose skull was cracked, had to relearn speech and led his team in points that year. The only thing that could top that is if a guy gets paralyzed and comes back to lead his team.

  7. Pass % these last two games has to be around 11%. They must track that somewhere?

Sure the goals were nice plays but man the simple passes, just not there.

    The eye test says yikes.

  8. Zucc took a ton of abuse tonight. Kesler was chasing him around. Lindholm abused him too. The best news is that you cannot blame Henrik. The bad news is that the defense was brutal as was the backchecking.

  9. Yup- this team’s AWESOME. Come on everyone… have faith! We’re magically going to pull it together in the playoffs and get hot. Playing .500 hockey is THE recipe for a deep run, didn’t you know?

  10. Really looking forward to the Hank sucks narrative that will be everywhere… On the bright side neither Klein or Staal was the worst Dman tonight! I’m giving that honor to the Captain (which is, of course, a rarity). Let’s hope the Fishsticks lose tomorrow, we clinch, and Hank gets some support against San Jose. Too much wishful thinking?

  11. So was this the annual west coast s##t show or do we have that to look forward to in San Jose? At least we didn’t have to lose sleep over it. After the season Gorton has to figure out if the frequent no shows are a lack of talent or some other reason. Do they need to change out the fancy passers for some north south guys? I’m certainly not smart enough to know.

  12. Good morning! It is a bit icy out here on the ledge today, becareful outside!

So those who think/hope Skjei is removed for the playoffs… Birthday boy led the team in even strength TOI and was 2nd overall. The newcomer, Mr. Smith, as last of the D. The kid, much like Tanner Glass, is the least of their problems.

Having watched Auntie play that stretch (and his other games earlier in the year) I wonder how much Shampoo Boy’s inability to handle the puck plays into some of these disasters. Not only does Auntie save the D a little work (and potential for error), he sends the play back out quickly a lot too. Still beyond me after all these years why HL is so poor in that aspect of the game.

  13. Good morning, boneheads!
Hank was far from stellar. Expected. McDonagh was dreadful. Maybe it’s time to decrease his minutes. 6 games to go, they’re not going to miss playoffs, or fall out of the 1st wild card place. McDonagh will have his share come April.

  14. Beezle,
I don’t hope Skjei is the odd man out, but I do think AV will eventually come to that decision. As far as Smiths TOI last night. 7 minutes in penalties, including a 5 minute major that lasted a few minutes more than 5 because there was no stoppage. And just so everybody understands where I am coming from, I think Skjei should be the number two left side D, and should be playing a lot more than he does. You need to ride the young legs.
