  1. I would give Stall a green light to shoot at the net from anywhere. He’s sure to hit some ankles and heels. Maybe someone could put a Kia logo on karlsonn’s skate? I keed, I keed or do I.

  2. I already saw Kreider pull up once on a great opportunity to hit a guy as he released the puck. He looked like he was going to do it then reached his hand out to brace himself against the guy and hit the brakes. That guy sucks in using the tools he’s got available.

  3. Funny how atrocious play by Smith and Skjei in their own end almost leads to a goal for us. Kinda like when players yell at the stupid guy on the blackjack table and then don’t thank him when they pull a 21 three hands later

  4. Sens are playing tonight better than they did in Ottawa…Rangers has to switch on higher gear if want to win in this game . Just observation…

  5. Quickie is Fast’s nickname on his team, I think. I can’t even remember the chain of things that led to his being “Couch” here. There are more than a few stale nicknames on this site: Machine, Hated, Doritos… it’s what makes this the best worst site on the interwebs. I can never keep them straight.

  6. Ottawa with much more life this game, a few sustained forechecks in P1. Score is about right, I’d say, but it would be lovely to consummate this delightful opportunity, which looked good up to the Step overpass.

  7. Fast was named “Couch” for a good portion of this season by a large swath of the citizenry of Bonehead Nation. The implication was Fast was a soft player. Also, same people could not understand AV’s favoring of Fast.

Amazing how the tune has changed now.

  8. Norm didn’t know you had the northern feed. What jacket was Mr. Cherry wearing tonight? Can you give a good description? And it is it something that would work on our Couch?

  9. Kind of pansification on that Methot call…but it sure was nice seeing the smirk on his face melt away as he realized he was getting a call.

  10. Who’s been telling you know-nothings about how sports works. Who said 2-2 going back to Ottawa? THIS GUY!!! Cuz I’m a real sports fan. You guys need me. It’s obvious. Let me know when I, someone who knows what he’s talking about, get to write my own post on top. It’ll blow you guys away.

  11. Hayes is still the only Ranger that hasn’t come to play a single game in the postseason. Kreider had shown up in one game. Stepan has shown up in this series regardless of how he’s playing….which is sucky.

  12. I don’t want Karlsson too hurt to play. I want him hurt just enough so he can still play but at an incredibly diminished level so they don’t put in a serviceable guy. Plus a lot of the offense runs through him so it makes our strategy easier. If someone else comes in were got to reconfigure. I like it just how it is.

  13. Crowd. F***ing. Sucks.
Half-assed chants all day. It sounds like only a quarter of the people there are real fans and they can’t hold a chant for too long. Even the “Potvin Sucks” chants….Suck.

  14. OK Mama you can start dancin in the street
Norm are you suggesting they are like a cat playing with the mouse they just caught? Letting it try to run away before grabbing it back?

  15. SN, because his entire career is a third pairing defensemen. He’s had a good 10 games. If we were judging players based on hot streaks then Nick Holden should have been a Norris candidate for that two month stretch he had this season.

  16. They keep talking about how Ottawa is “laying the plans” for Saturday. Looks more to me like they’re coming apart at the seams, frustrated, and have no answer for the way the Rangers have adjusted their game..but what do I know? I don’t work for NBC

  17. Rangers won this game by playing fast, determined playoff hockey and their post season experience is showing too. You can see who the better team is when puck luck isn’t crapping on them

  18. Montreal went with a “Teflon” coating and the Rangers won in 6, Doodie. Could care less about the rough stuff. Rangers showing they’re the better team and Ottawa is clearly realizing it as well

  19. Evrockriser— just wondering, are you deaf? How can you say the Garden was quiet? Chants burst out after and before every fight. USA chants. Ranger chants. Sloppy seconds! What game are you watching?

  20. My wife is the good luck charm here in this series. When she hasn’t watched with me, they’ve lost, so…. she’s begrudgingly agreed to watch the remaining games 🙂

  21. So Karlsson is hurting, Brass has been invisibie, Anderson has a 4.00 GAA over the last 3 games, AV’s adjustments paying dividents, Boucher’s haven’t plus the Sens 1-3-1 hasn’t done much of anything BUT…NBC thinks that Ottawa made a statement in the third period to set the tone for Saturday?

  22. Michael, the chants usually last an unfortunately short amount of time. They take a while to get loud. Henrik chants used to last three times as long and if you can easily hear the Potvin sucks whistle during a playoff game, that’s not necessarily a good thing. It’s even worse when there’s a half-assed response to it.

  23. Great end to the game
Glass pounds their goal scorer with a couple of rights
How did Smith get cut – did t see Sloppy get in any shots.
Oscar, Tanner, Mr Smith in no particular order

  24. Seeedubbb- Pretty much. He’s a coach trying to convince his team they’re still the fav’s in the series.
I get it, and I’m not saying the Rangers are any kind of guarantee to win the series but right now it’s clear which team has more playoff experience

  26. I am loving these Rangers. Awesome D, terrific offense, solid goaltending, and everyone contributing. And as the stepmom of a Tanner Glass style player who spent most of his 10 year pro career in the AHL, I am positively thrilled for #15. Glass played great tonight and deserved his star and his interview with Pierre.

  27. Another HUGE win!

Great to see guys standing up for eachother. I don’t trust Burrows or Phaneuf. Expecting some thing ugly in game 5 from one or both of them.

Dion Phaneuf- 4 more years @$7M. Ouch!
    (Karlsson only makes $6.5 million.)

I had Lindberg, Nash and Nash, but it was all about the team effort. Good for Holden scoring an impressive goal and gaining more confidence.

  28. That’s two straight games where they dominated the Senators. Let’s hope they can keep it up on the road.

During the game I was trying to think of who I would pick for the 3 stars. I couldn’t pick just 3 because it seemed that everybody contributed.

I don’t think the Senators are going to try to rough up the Rangers in game 5 like Montreal tried to do. It’s not really their character. If you make them do something they’re not comfortable doing, then they’ll implode.

After seeing the all the cross checking, slashing, boarding stuff that didn’t get calls during the playoffs I got a chuckle with the Methot penalty against Zucc. It was really not much of anything. During the year people were saying the Rangers needed a sandpaper guy. I think Zucc tries to get under the skin of the opponents. He’s not as nasty as a guy like Marshand, but he can be a pain in the assen.
