Their PP looks much more dangerous and organized than ours (which is not to say a lot). Crowd in anticipation of their tying goal and Neil fight with Glass which not gonna happened (he is not suicidal)
there are going to be momentum swings both ways in this game. Hope for lundqvist to be there to make the save and for the rangers to capitalize on there chances.
Glass is smart and disciplined, which is rare case for his role and position. I’m afraid much more for Miller, Krieder and occasionally, Zuc for this matter.
McD all around game in this series is kind of very worrisome for me. Plenty of uncharacteristic mistakes.
It will be another unwarranted lost to inferior team. Haze didn’t shoot when lane was open. Idiotic play on point. Wrong positioning in own zone and…on and on.
Rangers are gonna have to find their big boy pants and get this done. Just like Toronto giving Washington a big scare in round 1, and Chicago getting swept out, it seems anything is possible these playoffs.
Ottawa advancing is a real possibility. Rangers aren’t entitled to anything. They were a fourth place team. Got to treat these games in Kanata like they are for real.
I leave you guys in charge and look what happens! @James so the beer was indeed free. Managed to get 10 2 oz samples and high tail it out of there in time to just miss the replay of the 2nd goal. Was quite amused that in addition to the usual coasters and stickers, some tables were also giving out rolling papers! And I think it was Mama that asked me to go to Walters, sorry but needed a slice of sicilian so went to Sal’s and ate on the way to the beer place. As usual, line was outside the door at Sal’s
The sullen ref was like “sorry Kanata, I don’t know how to tell you this… but the puck completely crossed the line, so… it’s a goul.” [shakes his head{
I want to say that we dont deserve to win now but really actually do… but they deserve whatever is coming. No excuse not to close it out. We’ve seen this show time and time again already
How come that the Rangers trailing 1 goal and taking goalie of never got a goal (mostly letting ENG), but so many times let other team to tie a game on the last seconds in the same situations.
Never fails wIth this group. Every playoff series is extended beyond what it should run by them because of their incompetence. Off to the golf course for me. Will follow on Twitter.
If I’m Ottawa, I GO for it in the overtime: they’re at home, they just tied a(nother) game up with the goalie pulled, so they’re playing with house money.
No way would I risk going back to MSG by playing safe. If I’m Ottawa and I lose in OT, I would prefer to lose while playing to win.
What w, which as has to be proved! Another idiotic, frustrating game, which SHOUL BE won. No excuses. Unforgivable, unexplainable (Hank’s digressing notwithstanding) shiiiit.!
Horrible defense there but we’ve lost every game that Lundqvist didn’t come to play in. Ottawa’s goalie got pulled last game and he came to play. Lundqvist did not.
This Rangers team is so sickening to watch sometimes. There was puck luck on both sides tonight, but this is the third game in Ottawa where we’ve blown a lead in the third and lost the game. I have faith we will win game six, but this team needs to steal a game in Ottawa or it doesn’t matter and obviously, the only one that’s left is game seven. Game two still looming so large in this series.
For the fans of the Rangers’ opponents, the Most exciting 2 minutes in sports isn’t the Kentucky Derby, it’s the last 2 minutes down a goal vs the Rangers.
What is this crap that Lundqvist didn’t come to play? Seriously? I don’t even know where to begin with that hot take so I won’t bother. They’ve gotta figure out how to close out some games even if they aren’t getting the “puck luck.” See you Tuesday. LGR….
This was the worst game they played all series, so it would have been extreme karmic justice after the first two games for them to have pulled it off. Alas
We are capable of winning the next two, however it wouldn’t bother me a smidgen if by next season we jettisoned Step, Girardi, Staal, Hayes, AV and Beuk. and replaced them with some quality. The last two do not coach, they simply assign minutes. So obvious.
I don’t think Hank feels any (or not much) of the horror here is his fault. He’s an egoist and has to be. Thus, he just might accept a trade to a contender with a talented and competent D in front of him. Management won’t even have the balls to broach the discussion. His agent would have to subtly probe.
Lundqvist throwing a tantrum is bush league, especially on a game where he should have been better prepared! He gave the Senators the first goal, and the last goal he was absolutely brutal on! Another thing that has to be addressed is their horrible D, especially Marc Staal! Is Kevin Klein not a better option than Staal? Staal can’t play D worth a damn, and is trapped almost every shift he’s on the ice. Girardi has passed his best if used by date as well. And why does this team always try to sit on a lead!!! AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!
We’re done. Be interesting off season. I say we convince Staal or Girardi to accept being available for expansion and give Vegas our 1st rd pick for them to take one. Hey it’s a start.
Ayyy yoooo!!! Big fan here! Huge! I love these guys! But someone’s gotta tell me why these guys choke so much? And Junk Goalie let us down again. I quit.
That’s also the third game this playoffs where we have Lundqvist enough goal support that they should’ve won. We’re better off scoring less apparently. Lundqvist was enormously outplayed by Anderson.
First – the outcome sucked. Certain guys just aren’t doing enough. We don’t seem to be getting any puck luck, and guys need to shoot it more instead of making those fancy passes. That being said… if I recall correctly, the 1994 Rangers blew a few last minute leads on their way to the cup, and even lost a few OTs as well. (Devils Game 1 and Vancouver Game 1 in the final)
So, before we stick a fork in this team, let’s see what happens when their backs are truly against the wall.
Finally got back to see the highlights, and I noticed a smidge of puck luck on Brassard’s goal. Pinball.
But reading these comments, it seems the season is over. So no Game Six at MSG?
Sorry E3, I just can’t do it. This team has screwed with my emotions way too much this year. If they lose, I’m ready. If they win, I’ll live eating crow.
When has anything been easy for this team ah never, and never will. Even if they win game 6 it will take a miracle to win game 7 and advance. And for most of us our nerves will be shot. I said earlier this is the game for the Rangers to show what they’re made of. Obviously not made of much. No killer instinct RICK NASH and the rest of this cotton candy gutless bunch. The book was for you Norm!
Lundqvist not at his best, apparently, but I did enjoy his diving save early and then the breakway save on the NHL highlight selection. Also looks as though it might be back to Buch at MSG, unless Glass was more useful than his showing on his three goals against. At the very least, he won’t be seeing any late-game action, though I bet AV starts him and hopes he can get MSG going.
Ev.. what’s wrong with you? It ain’t the only sport. There’s NFL. There’s MLB. There’s NBA. And if you’re a hick there’s NASCAR.
The team ain’t as good as we thought. I thought they were the better team. Good teams don’t choke. Talented teams choke all the time. In all sports. Not just hockey. I hear some yous talking about jumping off a ledge? Yous all need help.
Late last night, Barry Trotz was wandering the streets of Washington, trying to figure out how to beat the Penguins. His wandering took him to in front of the Lincoln Memorial, where he paused and went inside for some inspiration. Standing in front of the Lincoln Statue, he began talking out loud, seemingly as if Lincoln was alive in front of him. “Hello, Abe. It seems like we have had some of the same problems lately. We both were losing to a weaker opponent, the people are angry with the lack of success so far, and we’re both in danger of losing our jobs if it doesn’t turn around soon. Well, Abe… Do you have any words of wisdom for me?”
A voice, echoing through the Memorial boomed a reply… “Don’t go to the theatre…”
Tough loss, but anybody looking in from the outside would favor the Rangers in Game 6. And Game 7, if it happens, may not see the Senators enjoy some of the amazing breaks they have gotten in their 3 OT wins. But Karlsson, good God, he’s good.
Sittoo, in fairness, I didn’t see the game, just the condensed highlights, so it may be worse than I think. Still, though, Rangers have little reason to fear Game 6. And 7 is what you play for.
I’ve had just about all I can take with this team. They’re not winning a cup with Girardi/Staal/Stepan/a useless Miller/Hayes/Kreider….and softies glove side from Hank. I’m sorry, but Pittsburgh would be a repeat of last year…. and guess what? I don’t think we’re getting past Scarface’s team either way. We have NO clue how to finish a team off…and this garbage all started during the cup finals against the Kings. It has EVERYTHING to do with their crap system of defending. They crowd the net and leave shots from the point/the slot opened and they eventually find their way through. Every time… same garbage. I’m over it….
My optimism is hardly blind, Weather. Been a fan since mid-1960s, so when the Rangers are in the hunt, I’m always happy–these last five or so years have been amazing, and I would never give up hope with these guys. Girardi comes immediately to mind, and if he was as crappy today as the highlights would indicate, my reaction would be: bet he has a good one next game. And the other thing that gives me even more hope is that Ottawa has been amazingly lucky. You’d rather be them than the Rangers, but can their luck hold, truly?
When Lundqvist is on his game he never makes that diving save. He’s in better position for the first shot and never coughs up the rebound that allows the second shot. Fighting it
I was joking with you Norm. I’m totally with you and not giving up hope. We played great for the first 5 minutes, and then we alternated between playing poorly and playing ok. Had a big push on Anderson in the 3rd and he came up huge. Hank was not God but he wasn’t horrible either. Had some big saves and gave up a softie on the first one. GWG, as Micheletti immediately said, was a shot that Turris kinda missed so instead of going high it skittered along the ice. Sucks but there it is. Mac, Staal, and Step had rough games. The biggest issue is obviously not closing out these games. And that’s on the whole team and the coach who is not deploying his players wisely.
That’s it Norm keep your chin up as we watch them pack it in for game 6. But then again they could win game 6 and get our hopes up only to choke in game 7! Why should this year be any different?
Olga of course Hank bears some of the blame when the other team scores 5. I just dislike the narrative that usually accompanies it, i.e., all 5 were soft, he sucks, he’s a choke artist, etc, etc. Hank gave up a bad goal on the 1st one and was wildly unlucky on the 4th. The others were hockey plays that could have gone either way. So yes, blame him along with everyone else who failed again to close out a game holding the lead in the last couple of minutes.
Norm – not sure Glass comes out. Can’t say any of the goals were directly his fault and the reason that line was out there was the top two lines were sucking donkey you know what. Hank had his moments today for sure, but overall, you give up that many goals and especially at critical moments, well part of its on you. He is supposed to be the best player on the team (and is highest paid) and that’s the guy that has to step up and shut it down. He’s failed to do so quite a few times and we aren’t exactly talking 1-0 or 2-1 losses.
All that said, they usually bounce back from these types of outings with a strong game. But I just do not get the lack of finish in this team. And if I fault AV for anything, its for letting Staal be out there at the end of the 3rd. He’s been bad at critical moments and this was another.
They are done. The team that loses game 5, loses the series 78% of the time. That percentage is probably much higher when your team refuses to play 60 minutes, they have no PP, they can’t hold a lead and half your lineup is made up of passengers that are just along for the ride(Kreider, Stephan, Hayes, Miller, Stall). Add to that that those same players have very little hockey IQ, little heart and you have a coach who fails to hold most of these “top” 6 players accountable, the way he does the 4th line players.
@mike haze and miller are not top 6 (yet). And I’d say Miller has heart but has had a really brutal playoffs, probably just trying too hard. Kreider I think has heart too but hockey IQ is next to 0. Hayes could be so much better if he really wanted to be and is one player I think would perform better under a tyrant like Torts. Step has been bad enough this post that even if you wanted to trade him its going to be a salary dump, don’t think you get a 2c back. Staal was a bad resigning. Whether it is a legacy of injuries or what, he is really not a lot better than a 3rd pairing when the pressure is on. Very frustrating.
As to the coach, I don’t get how this team can come out and have game 3 and 4 and then play (for the most part) like crap in game 5. Is he really doing anything different game to game? I don’t think so, not very much at least. Seems to me more on the players just not doing what is expected of them.
I’m really going to miss Grabner when Vegas takes him in expansion, especially considering some of the bums we’ll be protecting at forward and their salaries.
A step back next year for sure. I don’t see us making the playoffs.
The problem with today’s game was they came out from the get-go with what looked like an entirely different strategy. They ponder checked waaaaay more than they hit and didn’t make Karlsson pay a price.
Oh, and Lundqvist sucked. You knew it right from the start when he was having trouble with rebounds.
The pp is worthless and does more to raise the other team’s spirits than their own.
Their inability to close out games has gives their opponent tremendous confidence that they can come back at the end and are never actually out of it. They need at least a 3 goal lead to have any confidence in their ability to win. Ugh.
Hank was fighting it today – you could see it immediately from the start of the game. And if he is off his game… well you know the rest.
Ottawa has been incredibly fortunate. The tying goal, the timing of their goals. It’s really strange — these 3 games in Ottawa seem to be more about the Rangers losing than Ottawa winning.
I can’t really say the rangers have played bad today. They were in position to win. 4 goals is enough to win in today’s NHL. Ottawa’s 5 goals didn’t come off of incredible displays of offensive skill, or putrid defensive breakdowns, and didn’t even come off of extended periods of forechecking, and weren’t even power play goals. Really, really strange. It seems like they get goals out of nothing plays. Luck?
Admiral – I’ve never seen such a lucky team. Rangers should be 5-0 this series. No doubt Hank was fighting it. That first shot he bobbled, couldn’t corral it, and we all knew what was coming. Once 2 minutes hit in the third, with Anderson poised to be pulled, I didn’t feel at ease. You could see it unfold right front of you.
Too many players doing nothing. McD had a bad game, yes, but he’s been real good this post season. Stepan is horrid, offensively, defensively and on faceoffs. Kreider is a sad sack. JT and Haze useless. Staal is really bad. Nash has been good but not today.
Still, I feel in my gut that the Rangers will win in 7.
Beezle, I agree with some of what you say, just very frustrated with this team. Hayes, Miller, Kreider should all have much better hockey IQ then they do. IMO it’s one of three things 1) poor coaching 2)they are too dumb and will never get it or 3) they tune the coach out because they are not held accountable(Miller held accountable a little). As for Stephan, with the impending NMC you need to trade him no matter what. if you can’t get a 2C then try to get the best prospect you can for him or highest draft pick. As for Kreider, he takes too many shifts and/or games off and that is unacceptable. He has value, because of his skills(albeit much wasted skills) and I would trade him to a western conference team. You don’t win with players who only show up half the time. Stall we are stuck with. I do think Miller will get better and he plays harder than the others I mentioned.
I’m pretty positive that they’ll win at home on Tuesday but they’ve apparently lost their road game mentality from the regular season. We definitely have no idea how to win in Ottawa. It’s the new Montreal forum. We’re 0-5 there this year.
If they bring their game from their two wins to the next two they’ll win this series. But Lundqvist still has to show up. And they have to learn how to lock down a lead. The game they played today didn’t resemble a single thing from their wins. They let Ottawa take it to them. They didn’t hit when they should’ve and there wasn’t enough intensity or desperation. Well if they’re not desperate enough now, they sure better be on Tuesday. If not, this season is over.
And AV better have his team better prepared.
Btw, I also thought AV screwed up when Ottawa had all the momentum going on the first and he didn’t use his timeout. Classic AV.
When all the bounces go against you maybe you are just not meant to win. Hank was lights out to get them through the first round and has reverted to regular season Hank now who has his good games and bad games. They have to outplay the Sens like they did in game 3 and 4 because they can’t count on him to be the difference. Stepan’s play has moved me to be in favor of a hockey trade to move him before the MNC kicks. If everybody made an effort like Vesey did on what should have been the winning goal (did anyone really think it was going to be?) they would be in a better place. I’m hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. Could see a handshake on Tuesday.
We’re lost 3 games this series. Ottawa won the first one, though we also lost it. The other losses are entirely on the Rangers. I’ve never seen a more inept team when playing with a lead. Just boggles the mind. After the game in Anaheim the night before, we were briefly not the biggest chokers in the playoffs. That didn’t last long.
fully confident. The rangers should have won every game they lost and completely dominated the games they won. sens have been very opportunitistic. Good on them.
E3 I’m expecting a hand shake Tuesday night, I don’t think this team has the onions. But if they pull this off and win in 7 than I’ll be eating crow with EV. This group knows how to disappoint their fan base to perfection, it’s what they do best!
It is a beautiful morning outside today, yet I still have this terrible taste in my mouth from yesterday, and its not from the beer. I hope the NYR have that same taste too.
I don’t know how “leadership” gets it through to the team but this HL is not the HL of three, four or more years ago. There is no longer any assuming he will shut things down with a one or even two goal lead in the third, no matter how late. They need to drill that into their heads and fast.
AV’s legacy here will be blown playoff leads. Do they practice the 6 on 5? Do they change their approach when they fail over and over again at it? If they could hold leads they would have won this series and the Cup finals against the Kings. The Oilers are a young team who did it once. The Rangers are an experienced team who seemed to do this every night.
How anyone could sleep after another just brutal defeat is behind me. If I got 2 hrs I’d be shocked. This core Won’t win crap. I’m done with stepan and staal.
I thought Vesey probably played the best game of his career. He was all over the place and the goal he scored was just a hustle goal. I hope there’s a lot more of that to come.
Hayes was a lot better in this game. So, maybe I wouldn’t leave him unprotected…..eh, yeah I would because it doesn’t happen often enough.
Like a lot of youse, I don’t understand why the Rangers can’t handle it when the other team pulls their goalie. I don’t know if they keep stats on that, but I’ll bet the Rangers would be at the bottom of teams that get scored on when the goalie is pulled. What’s even worse, is when the Rangers are behind and pull their goalie it seems like 75% of the time the other team scores the empty netter.
The tying goal was just …..frustrating. Off Glass then off Smith’s skate. But stuff like that happens when you have no structure and are scrambling.
I’m not ready for the season to end Tuesday. I hope the Rangers feel the same way.
The Coach: “Maybe they got caught there not knowing the goalie was out.” WHAT? Less than 2 minutes left, down by 1 goal and no one anticipates the goalie being pulled? And also love, “Maybe THEY got caught there…” by the coach. Is he for real? THEY? Get rid of this chooch who impersonates an idiot savant but only provides the idiot part!
Good morning, boneheads!
Another disappointing, brutal loss. This series should’ve been over. They need took in their collective mirrors to find answers.
They’ll have to do it the hard way. What else is new? Rangers in 7.
Admiral, I don’t think Hank was fighting it until he realized his team wasn’t prepared to handle Ottawa’s intensity. I think the exchange with Stepan in the first period was very telling. I know it’s natural when youre in the heat of battle to have an exchange like that but in this particular instance it I think he realized the guys in front of him weren’t playing up to snuff in the first and it may have been his very own team that caused him to get unhinged. Whether I’m right or wrong his performance has to be better. They all do.
I had said gut feeling was Rangers in 7. I think if they win at home they’ll get the job done in Ottawa.
If they lose, the story of the post season is the blown leads late in the third. Without that this series is over in 5 just like the series against Montreal. Agree with ILB that there needs to be some serious soul searching on this team.
I get frustrated with Staal and Girardi at times but they’re at the tail ends of their primes thanks to the work load and various injuries over the years. They’ve both still found a way to be good more often than some of us figured. The bigger issue to me is the trio of Stepan Miller Kreider. They have been pedestrian compared to guys like Fast Lindberg Zucc even Vesey.. That’s inexcusable. These are the guys the organization has put their faith and money in to try to get the job done. Transitional year or not, I (and hopefully Gorton and AV) have to wonder if it was the right choice to commit to them the way they have.
Henrik’s “team in front of him” did not throw the puck up the boards to the opponent, followed by allowing a sloppy rebound for the first Ottawa goal. They did not allow the shocking Pyatt goal, a bleeder that, if Henrik simply butterflies with his stic in friend of him instead of whiffing on it trying to put it in the corner never goes into the net. They did not allow the winner when a big save was required.
Charlie, it isn’t just about the situation where Ottawa gets the extra skater on- 11 goals allowed in the last two games in Ottawa sandwiched around two solid home wins. That’s frighteningly similar to what happen when they lost to Tampa in 7 in the ECF. They need to take this a shift at a time starting Tuesday night and remember that they’re capable of doing this and play the way they can when their heads aren’t up their butts.
PS- Agree on Vesey. I think we are seeing the beginning of a solid career for the kid.
TYM, that wasn’t supposed to read like excuses for Lundqvist. Just that he may have unraveled out of frustration of some kind. Again- 11 goals allowed in the last two road games. Similar to the series against Tampa. Inexcusable and a big part of why they lose if they lose. He’s got to get a grip and shut it down.
Sorry Hanka, YOU are the highest payed player on the team.
The Rangers have scored a total of 9 goals past 2 losses and brought leads within the closing minutes of the game TWICE. 9 goals should get you at least one win in today’s nhl…
It is up to Hank, the franchise player, to make that extra save in those instances, and he didn’t.
It’s not just how bad they are 6 on 5, it’s that the puck was in their end for the last 5 minutes of the period. Just like in game 2. And just like it was for the entire 3rd period of game 2 in Montreal. No forecheck at the end of these games, can’t clear the puck out, unnecessary icings. Just the same stuff we’ve seen the last few years.
Look — this is not to say the team around him Doesnt need to be better, because they certainly do.. But for crissakes, they scored 9 goals and brought the lead into the closing minutes of the game and twice the goaltender couldn’t come up with the extra save. Hank is payed to steal games, which he did first round. This round, He has not gotten it done, given his role on this team and what he means to the franchise.
Exactly inability to play in offensive zone late in games. It’s one thing if they won face offs after icings. They never win draws late in games. You can’t allow that pass to get through by karlson. Sticks need to be in lanes not up around your waist. How many goal mouth scrambles end up in our net. A ton.
July 1 no trade for next 2 of remaining 4 years of stepan kicks in. After 2 years it’s limited no trade. I’m seriously thinking about seeing what package can come from it. He’s been brain dead with puck and we all know how slow he is.
That’s it. Sorry to bail on my fellow pozies here–fight the good fight–but the negativity of this place has finally gotten the better of me, so I’m out. It’s actually gotten in the way of my enjoying the successes, trials and tribs of my favorite team to see the players, especially the vets, and coach ripped to shreds on a daily basis. It’s a poor reflection on me, not you all–I understand it’s just the way you root. And I’m sure I’ll be back trolling next season (sorry, SN!) if this HAV still exists–great job, Doodie et al, keeping it alive, and good luck growing the second buttock. In the meantime, Let’s Go Rangers!
Unfortunately Stepan had a pretty lousy regular season and is having a brutal postseason. Trade value probably at its lowest. I’m certainly not opposed to dealing him but wouldn’t give him away just because of the bad contract.
It’s pretty clear what the issue is in these situations. I was telling my dad last night. AVs coaches to control 5-5 play with his system and pace, and it works when teams are running normal forechecks. But when teams are down and sending all their forwards in an all out forecheck and having both D join in and pinch at every pucks, and even more so when they have an extra skater to boot, it totally exploits how AV coaches his end zone. His system doesn’t coach for those situations, if it were a machine it would be poorly engineered bc it doesn’t have a setting to handle that kind of pressure. It’s designed for the normal flow of a hockey game and not a team going balls out sending all 5/6 guys. and he has never adjusted his end game, in zone D, even though it’s been staring the rangers in the face for years.
Hank did not have a good game yesterday BUT Stepan skating to him and telling HIM to relax? Are you kidding me? This POS blocks everyone on twitter who with good reason criticizes his play and his contract. Guy is a joke.
Im not watching Tuesday’s game. I’ll be somewhere in Portugal drowning in sangria.
The end is near. I would still like to watch a few more games of Rangers’ hockey this year.
Gorton has been busy already signing defensive prospects. Training camp next year should be interesting. Zborovskiy, Day, Bereglazov, Pionk, etc.
I changed the channel the second that OT goal was scored. I remember Girardi there, a simple poke check or play the body? no, tried to play goalie. Staal had a rough day too. Who gets bought out this summer? neither?
JPP- I really wish I shared the same optimism you do. I really do. And I completely understand that EVERY team has its warts. But this team just can’t finish a team off. It’s as if they accept the “surge” instead of countering it so it doesn’t set up to begin with and they just sh*t the bed…. Very hard to watch. Nevertheless, I’ll be cheering them on Tuesday night and I guess we’ll go from there.
I really dont think we have a chance against Pittsburgh but there is no excuse for losing to this Ottawa team. And no excuse for losing in the way that they are losing. It’s embarrassing and something is rotten.
Buyouts are not a free pass. Not even close. Need to find another way. Get one to waive no move and entice a team to trade for one (or via expansion) even if we have to throw in a first round pick to facilitate the deal.
Hard no from me to Shattenkirk. Buy out Staal. Move Girardi down (or trade inshallah). Move Skjei up. Keep Smith. Let the prospects fight it out for remaining spots. It wont be pretty sometimes but ive seen enough snow angels the past 5+ years.
Girardi has had a good post season and his status as a warrior for many years wins him some slack, but why he did not simply Nolan Turris straight up instead of leaving his feet is again frustrating. But Henrik should have stopped that weak shot by Turris. Henrik was very well protected by the club in the home games and did not have to do much. Losing games while scoring 4 and 5 on the road in unacceptable.
Norm I hate to see you go some of your comments have prevented me from throwing the remote through my flat screen. I believe the negative comments come from years of frustration by diehard fans. I for one love this team even when they play stupid hockey. If you’re not giving up on the Rangers don’t give up on us, we all want the same thing, “The Cup”

Interesting thing regarding Lundqvist as per Dave Maloney’s observation during game 4:
“When Lundqvist is off his game, the first thing you notice is he is not in control of his rebounds…”
Ladies and Gentlemen, if that first goal is any indication, we may be in for a bumpy ride this afternoon. Not good.

I don’t think Hank feels any (or not much) of the horror here is his fault. He’s an egoist and has to be. Thus, he just might accept a trade to a contender with a talented and competent D in front of him. Management won’t even have the balls to broach the discussion. His agent would have to subtly probe.

LikeLiked by 2 people
@mike haze and miller are not top 6 (yet).

Ugh.

What a terrible terrible loss.
Luck?

They did not allow the shocking Pyatt goal, a bleeder that, if Henrik simply butterflies with his stic in friend of him instead of whiffing on it trying to put it in the corner never goes into the net. They did not allow the winner when a big save was required.

Gorton should seriously shop Stepan this Summer.

That loss was pretty brutal.

Staal has to be the one bought out. Just has to be. Girardi would make for a pretty good 3rd pair (occasional 2nd pair) guy.

Day, the Russian kid we just signed and Pionk who apparently was a good get… cant be worse than Staal. Holden could make for a good 7th dman
